Feng Shui for your Baby’s Haven
Feng Shui has been an old Chinese practice that invites success, good luck and positive energies to your home. Some parents are now incorporating feng shui when planning for the baby’s room because they believe that it helps make the baby feel comfortable and nurtured. It can also affect the baby’s physical and mental health. There are some basic things to consider like the room location, colors, and furniture arrangement.
The nursery room should be away from the noisy street and away from the living room. It should not have an empty space below or not over a garage. The crib should be placed against a solid wall for protection and avoid placing the crib or baby bed against a wall that is shared with a bathroom, toilet or storage room since it could affect the baby’s health negatively. .
The room should have an enough space to keep the air moving in the room. Use a fan turned on low, hang a mobile wind chime and play a soft music to achieve a soft energy flow to your baby’s room.
Relaxing colors can influence your baby’s mood. Do not use bright colors which can make the baby restless. Opt for subdued or soft colors. Whites are excellent for babies; blue and green have a calming effect. Select color palettes that are close to one another like beige and white, blue and green, or pink and yellow.
A little research goes a long way; it does not require the expertise of interior decorators when preparing for your baby’s nursery room. Anyone can do these basic Feng Shui principles that will aid in harmonizing your new baby’s environment.
